In 2024, a significant milestone was reached with the unveiling of a new brand identity and the announcement of an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 25% of its shares on the Muscat Stock Exchange. This strategic move positions OQEP for further expansion and offers investors the opportunity to participate in the thriving energy sector. 

OQEP continues to play a vital role in the energy industry. Its operations encompass a wide range of activities, including geological surveys, drilling, and production.

OQ Gas Networks SAOG (OQGN) holds a natural monopoly over critical gas transportation infrastructure in Oman as the exclusive owner and operator of the natural gas transmission network (NGTN). OQGN aims to champion the management and development of the NGTN through innovative and sustainable solutions. The Company prioritizes maintaining high standards of operation and maintenance, which is reflected in the OQGN’s operational track-record, having delivered 99.99% gas availability over the last 10 years and recorded no gas supply interruptions in 2024.

Musandam Power
Musandam Power

Musandam Power (MSPW) is the owner of the first independent power plant in the Musandam region of the Sultanate of Oman. The company was founded by OQ – which owns 69.9%, OETCL – which owns 0.1%, and LGI – which owns 30%. With a contracted power capacity of 120 MW, it currently contributes a significant proportion of Oman’s total MIS capacity. The power produced from the Plant is fully contracted to OPWP (Oman Power & Water Procurement Co.), pursuant to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and used to meet the growing power demand of the Musandam Governorate.
